Marsa Alam is a quaint Egyptian town with a population of around 10,000 residents, located 270 km south of Hurghada. It has its own airport, situated approximately 60 km to the north. Along the coastline, stretching nearly a hundred kilometers, you’ll find hotels that can be described as being “in the middle of nowhere.” This is a complete contrast to the well-known resorts.
Marsa Alam offers beautifully preserved and untouched dive sites, primarily accessible from the shore but also from boats. Among the most famous dive sites in Marsa Alam are Abu Dabab, Elphinstone, and Dolphin House. There is a good chance of encountering turtles, dugongs, dolphins, and sharks there. With a bit of luck, you can experience all of these during a single diving package.
